Judges Hill
A film producer and director couple enlisted Side Angle Side to renovate their 1928 Colonial Revival home in Austin's historic Judges Hill neighborhood, originally designed by noted architect Edwin C. Kreisle. The team gutted the interior to modernize the layout, connecting the kitchen to the main living area while carefully restoring and reusing original molding, doors, windows, and longleaf pine floors, and transformed the attic into a screening room and kids' play nooks befitting the couple's careers in film.

“We love how inviting the home is. There isn’t anything pretentious about it. Everyone who steps inside feels welcome.”

“It was really about simplifying the spaces and organizing them for their family. She also told us she reads everywhere, and she needed cozy places for reading throughout the house. I thought that was the best ask.”
